After the Vicious Male Partner Marries the Disabled Villain: Chapter 1

“You----”

“How can you be so shameless! As the eldest son of the Chu family, you actually did this kind of thing. The Chu family lost face because of you and you still have the audacity to sleep? Get up--”

Chu Chen, who was currently sound asleep, got annoyed by the sound of an impatient voice ringing in his ears. He frowned, rolled over, and rubbed his cheeks against the soft pillows, wondering which family was incompetent enough to yell so loudly in the middle of the night, sincerely rendering people unable to sleep.

“Where’s the water? What about the water I asked you to get? Splash him!”

“Hm? What are you doing?”

“Today, don’t worry about his status as the eldest son. If he dares make trouble for you later, come to me! Just say I let him do it. See if he or my mother-in-law cares about it!”

In the next second a “splash” was heard and a bucket of ice-cold water was dumped on Chu Chen’s body. Chu Chen was hit by the water but didn’t react. Instead, he slowly opened his eyes.

Now, Chu Chen was really in a mess.

His body that was exposed under the quilt was soaked. His hair which took most of the damage, was drenched and sticking uncomfortably on his forehead. His eyelashes were stained with water droplets. His quilt, his pillow--all of them were wet.

His originally warm body suddenly became cold.

This wasn’t a dream. It wasn’t someone else who’s being scolded.

But he had always lived alone and even his relatives had little contact with each other. Was it possible for someone to enter his apartment? A demon?

Chu Chen sat up, the air pressure around him lowering considerably.

Looking around, it was no longer Chu Chen’s single apartment but a room inside a high-end hotel. He sat on the bed, while a naked man was rustling around and shivering at the edge of the bed.

He looked around again.

Oh.

In the room, there were seven or eight people standing around.

The group of people was headed by an elderly woman, a cane in hand, trembling with rage. With one hand pointed at Chu Chen’s direction, she spat, “You---you still have the face to sit?!”

“Why? Do you want me to line up and welcome you?” Chu Chen said languidly. “Are you all here to watch me sleep?”

He just woke up from a deep and peaceful slumber only to find himself in a different place surrounded by a group of people in front of him. No matter how he looked at it, it was all too baffling.

He knew there must be variables involved in this but Chu Chen had always been reckless. If he was in a bad mood, no matter the time or circumstance, his mouth spared no one.

“You--” The old lady’s hand shook again.

Standing next to the old lady was a young boy with beautiful features. After hearing the words, his clear, round, and deer-like eyes glanced at Chu Chen anxiously and immediately soothed the old woman. “Grandma, I’m sure gege didn’t mean to do it. Don’t be too angry, your health is more important.”

To their right, a man who was around forty or fifty years old stood. His anger wasn’t directed at the man but more on himself1. With furious eyes, he looked at the man on the bed saying, “What an unfilial son!”

In the corner of the room there was a man leaning on the wall, his demeanor clearly setting him apart from the rest of the people in the room.

The man appeared to be in his twenties, similar to Chu Chen’s age. His hair was a striking golden shade and his face was handsome too. It wouldn’t be too much to say that he looked like a celebrity. At this point, the man lifted his eyes and stared at Chu Chen, gaze full of ridicule.

The corners of his mouth were slightly raised as he said, “Madame Chu, you’re2 making this matter bigger as it is. In the case of your grandson, I couldn’t find anyone on the night of the engagement. It turned out to be a cowherd3 drifting along in the hotel. We’ve never seen this before in our circle and we’ve been ignorant. I think it’s better to call off the wedding.”

When it came to the topic of breaking off the engagement, the old lady's face immediately changed.

“Chu Chen! Get out of bed!” The old madame knocked her cane against the thick carpet, emitting a deep and oppressive sound. “Even if you kneel today, you have to admit your mistake!”

Admit my what?

Although he could more or less figure out what happened, this wasn’t Chu Chen’s fault. He didn’t do it.

At this moment, Chu Chen didn’t want to apologize. Even if the Emperor came to this room, he still wouldn’t choke out an apology.

“How unfortunate,” Chu Chen sneered. “I like to sleep like the Luo4. If you don’t mind me walking in front of so many people with my bird, then don’t blame me as soon as I get up from bed.”

“You……”

The old madame’s eyes rolled back and almost fainted.

“Mom!”

The man in his forties quickly reached out and helped the old lady. When he got to his feet, he raised his head and scolded him. “Chu Chen! How dare you talk to your grandmother this way!”

The boy couldn’t help but glance at the blonde man in the corner and said, “Brother, how could you say that….”

All at once, the scene became very chaotic.

On the other side, the blonde man watched the scene unfolding in front of him, a smile on his face. Then he said, “This is the Chu family’s matters. It’s not convenient for an outsider to stay here so I shall take my leave first. The Chu family doesn’t have to give me any explanation for this.”

This is what it meant to strike while the iron’s hot.

When the blonde man finished, he turned around and left the room, never looking back.

“You…...You really want to anger me to death ah!”

The old madame glared at Chu Chen and shook her head.

The man followed and in a cold voice said, “Even on the night of your engagement you still look for this...you really are a cheap scum. You and your mother are truly carved from the same stone. Even if you kneel and plead guilty, how dare you talk back to your grandmother!”

Hearing the man’s words, Chu Chen scowled.

This man’s words were really too crass!

When the man saw that Chu Chen remained silent, he continued angrily, “Two hours! If I don’t see you sitting firmly back in the old house then I won’t call you my son anymore! Chu Zhou, hold your grandmother. Let’s go!”

After the three of them left, the bodyguard who had splashed water on him stepped forward and bowed. “Chu-shao, in that kind of situation, I really had to follow them. I hope that Chu-shao will have a lot of people…”

Chu Chen looked up. “Hmm, it’s okay. Let’s go ba.”

The bodyguard sighed with relief and quickly walked out, thinking. It seemed that Chu-shao wasn’t as hateful as the rumours made him out to be.

The man who had kept silent before and was nestled in the corner of the bed quickly picked up a set of clothes and put them on. He swiftly changed into them then escaped.

Only Chu Chen was left in the room.

Chu Chen got out of bed slowly, taking his time and said, “These people, leaving and not even telling my bodyguards to help and close the door for me.”

Earlier, he had just sat up, witnessing the scene. Then, he later realized that something was wrong. After listening to several people talking and making a racket, he got a general understanding of the situation. Looking back, he thought of an interstellar novel he had read before.

Chu Chen wasn’t an avid reader of novels but he paid attention to this one, mainly because the vicious man in the story had the same name as him.

However, the contents of the novel were too cliche. Bored, Chu Chen threw it away after reading over a couple of chapters. He didn’t expect himself to cross over and transmigrate into the novel.

Chu Chen closed the door and turned to the bathroom. Reflected on the full length mirror was a young and tender youth. His face looked a little childish, the age probably belonging to the late teens. Still, he noticed that he was very tall, around 1.8 meters. Lifting his head, he observed his figure. He had a small face with skin as white as snow. His phoenix eyes curved upwards, carefully inspecting his body.

The person in the mirror was the same Chu Chen as before but at the same time it wasn’t. It was different from Chu Chen’s previous appearance. Now, he was a little younger and there were a lot of irregular red marks littered across his neck.

If it was Chu Chen, he would never let others leave such marks on his body.

Tsk.”

Chu Chen raised his hand and touched his neck, discomfort washing over his features.

“So ugly.” Chu Chen further appraised it. “There isn’t even a sense of pattern. Definitely did a bad job. How could you find such a person?”

After talking, he mused to himself. “Does this mean I can’t go back?”

No one answered Chu Chen. Instead, he looked at the man in the mirror and laughed. “Sorry, looks like I get to live by taking on your identity. However, I don’t have a kind heart. You have to prepare for my evil deeds.”

After saying this, Chu Chen was about to turn and take a bath when suddenly, a flood of memories appeared in his mind. Amazingly this was the original’s memories or the first half of this man’s life.

Chu Chen was the eldest son of the Chu family and he grew up spoiled under the doting love and care of his parents. Unfortunately, his good days didn’t last long. When he was 15 years old, Chu Chen’s mother died unexpectedly. One month later Chu Chen’s father, Chu Weiyun,  brought back a woman and a boy who was only two years younger than Chu Chen. This boy was the same one who helped the old madame earlier.

Chu Chen suddenly realized that his home was not as beautiful as he imagined. His father went off the rails and cheated, leading to the birth of illegitimate children outside. Now with the mistress by his side, the illegitimate son became the bright and righteous son of the Chu family.

Chu Chen took a while to absorb the situation. He couldn’t accept how the Chu family fell apart.

When he abandoned himself and turned into other unspeakable things, he did a few things that made Chu Weiyun angry.

Originally, Chu Chen wanted to enact revenge by being ruthless and heartless as a way to attract his attention. He wanted his father to look at him again. However, he didn’t expect that  after two minor incidents Chu Weiyun would push the boat along the current, saying that he was completely disappointed with Chu Chen.5 He turned away and cultivated Chu Zhou, claiming that in the future, all companies would be handed over to Chu Zhou for management.

This company clearly came back to life because of Chu Chen’s mother and her family. Without their money helping it get back on track, it wouldn’t have survived!

According to reason, the shares should be under Chu Chen’s name!

In the blink of an eye, Chu Chen changed from the proud son of heaven to the abandoned son. He realized how big the difference was between the clouds and mud6, thus he wasn’t able to recover.

Since he wasn’t an heir, he became a good bargaining chip for marriages.

Chu Chen’s mother was a young lady belonging to a big, respectable family. She had a close friend, who was the wife of the Huo family’s head. After their two children were born, the two decided that the two would marry each other. They promised each other that Chu Chen would marry Huo Ling, the eldest son of the Huo family.

Over the years the Huo family grew stronger, their influence expanding. Now, they have already turned into the top family in Wangcheng city. Seeing this, it was clear that the marriage between the two families was the best choice.

But Chu Chen didn’t think so.

After the wedding, it meant that he married out of the Chu family. This was equivalent to losing the right of inheriting the company. Everything would be owned by the illegitimate son, his younger brother Chu Zhou.

On the night of the engagement, Chu Chen didn’t appear at the banquet. Instead, he was found the next day in the hotel, exactly like the scene that happened minutes ago.

Chu Chen thought back on the last memory he received. It seemed that he was preparing to go to the wedding banquet when suddenly, he became dizzy. After waking up, he couldn’t recall anything. At this, he knew the fool was framed.

Finally, another “Chu Chen” appeared in his mind.

Chu Chen, the original owner, smiled bitterly  at him and said, “I clearly did nothing wrong yet why should I endure such pain? I don’t want to continue on living like this, completely muddled and naive. Stranger, can you help me? Take my place and live on.”

…...so, it’s like this?

Chu Chen raised an eyebrow. “I’ve always been a person who likes to muddy the waters. With your identity, I’d most likely make a complete mess out of it.”

The original owner “Chu Chen” whispered, “I don’t want to live anymore. In fact, I’d be troubling you. You can use this body however you please. Good luck.”

Chu Chen then bid the original owner goodbye.

To live or not to live?

What’s more, Chu Chen had long been tired of his former life.

He turned on the hot water and washed away the cold water on his body before. After finishing he came out of the bathroom wearing a robe, turning around in his room. He only saw his wrinkled clothes from the night before, thrown on the ground with his dirty underwear.

Chu Chen frowned.

He found the smart bracelet on the top of the bed and wiped off the water stains on it. He unlocked it with his fingerprint and clicked on the delivery service, similar to the one on earth. He immediately ordered a new set of clothes and a fresh set of underwear.

Ten minutes later, a robot arrived delivering the clothes.

Chu Chen looked at the time. The two hours before the appointed time with his father, Chu Weiyun, was nearly up. However he wasn’t in a hurry, his actions neither fast nor slow. It wasn’t until he neatly dressed himself up and put himself in order that he went out and hired a public suspended car to go back to the old house.

The public suspended car was unmanned. When they got in the car, they could directly swipe on the wrist bracelet and the money would automatically be deducted. Enjoying the convenience of the interstellar world, Chu Chen became more interested in what it had to offer.

However, as soon as he entered the house, Chu Chen felt the atmosphere solidify.

“Do you know what time it is?” Chu Weiyun said coldly, glancing at Chu Chen’s clothes.

Chu Chen replied with a broad smile. “The bodyguard splashed water on my face before so I had to go clean it up. Of course, wouldn’t this delay the time going back?”

“And you still smile?”

Chu Weiyun hated iron for not becoming steel7. “Do you not know the Huo family’s identity In Wangcheng city! This is already a great opportunity. If you get married, you’d definitely have a good life! Chu Chen, you should think about it. In two years you will graduate but right now, you have nothing. This is the best choice for you. Do you think your dad still wants to hurt you? You--forget it, it’s already happened. Things can only be remedied as soon as possible. You go to the Huo’s house and apologize to them at once!”

That speech sure sounded dignified. Too bad it wasn’t sincere.

In the end, who benefited the most out of this marriage? Was Chu Chen a stranger to these kinds of plots?

“Won’t go.”

In a light voice, Chu Chen said, “Didn’t you say before that if I came here more than two hours later, I’m not your son? I’m no longer part of the Chu family. This kind of marriage, who’d be in love?
